Orchestral music is music composed for a large group of instruments generally including strings, woodwinds, brass and percussion, a force called an orchestra. Aside from film music, by far the most popular musical form produced for Orchestra is called a symphony, a large scale musical form based on the sonata ideal. Orchestras are often combined with solo instruments (see, concerto) and voices. Smaller scale musical forms include Overtures, Nocturnes and Programme music
